Hello,

I have watched the shower video and read the glass block multitorial.

I want to put a glass block window in my bathroom. It will be no larger than 36.5 wide by 48.5 high. There was a smaller window but when I stripped the drywall, I found that the original framing was for the larger size.

The exterior is stucco the interior will be finished with tile.

I noticed that the window you are laying in the video is layed directly in the rough opening, without a plastic channel like they use for the glass block kits at Lowes. Yes! Those kits are for silicone installed glass block Also I noticed that the roofing felt under the glass blocks, will be totally overlaped by the blocks and grout, with no overhang to keep water off of the plywood. The felt is not to keep water off of the plywood it is to keep the cement from touching the plywood – which would cause it to crack.

My question is this, How will the window be finished on the inside and outside of the house? Yes. Does the stucco come right up to the grout line? Yes. over the line? Yes the stucco covers the grout joint with some slope to the stucco to cause the water to drain away from the window.

Also, is the window in the multitorial the same window in the shower glass block DVD?
in the dvd the window seems to have some kind of channel around it. The window in the DVD was a prebuilt (hauled to teh site erected and installed by the carpenters) with the channels you mention

Finally is the extra 3/8 inch at the top of the window, for the grout line, enough to slip in the top row of blocks? Yes, just barely.
I hope this helps I am here if you have further questions.

Gratefully Yours,
Rusty

Thanks,

Archie D…..

BTW, the shower video was first rate, very well done.
